David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
